Hi guys. I'm a new member to the Xterra club but not new to Nissan. I've had 2 Maxima's, a 240sx and an Altima SE-R. I just bout my 05 Xterra S a few days ago and a 06 Nissan Quest for my wife and 2 kids. I havn't really had a chance to drive my new ride but so far i'm liking it. It will be used mostly for hwy driving since i travel doing sales. These forums are always full of usful info so i'm looking forward to searching and finding out all the kinda of info about my new ride. Especially since my check engine light stared coming on... Peace.

not sure yet, i took it back to the lot i got it from and they said it was the code for a loose gas cap, but i think they are full of crap because as soon as i left i came back on. I'm going to take it this week and see what the code is. Its got a 90 day warranty so if its something else it will be back there so they can fix it. As soon as i find out i'll post it tho....

Some times it takes time for the computer to reset. Give it a little while,mine does that every so often. Oh by the way welcome....

Thanks for the info, the dealer cleared the code but it came right back on. I'll get it checked out just to make sure that it is the code for the gas cap.

I know that the 99-03 quests and merc villager used the vg33 as is in the first gen X. Do the new quests use the same engine as the X?

They have the same 3.5 V6, VQ enigin, as the rest of the line up, Maxima, Altima etc. Its just tuned different. Pretty peppy for a van, 240hp.
