I am trying to decide how to lift my X. I am looking for pro's and con's I guess. I have thought of doing the PML, of course easier, cheaper, etc. But, you are maxed out around 2 in if your lucky. My second thought is to get UCA's and a leaf pack. My third option is UCA, tweak of torsion bars with add-a-leaf and shackles.

I am not going to say money is no object, because it is. But, I think I can do any of these options. My X is pretty much stock at the moment and I will not be doing any serious wheelin. Hell, I may not do any wheeling, I just really like the looks. So, i am not looking for durability, articulation, etc. I am looking for ride quality and overall appearance. And, I am not really interested in a BL.

Thanks.

I put in spacers up front and shackles in the back. I went the other day and got some 285/75/16 for the xterra and the back still sits a tiny bit lower than the front so I ordered a add a leaf kit and will be putting that on when I get home.

this is why members need to read the "moderator's request"
and put your year xterra in your sig
OUMOOSE has a first gen, obviously bc he has torsion bars
nicholas yours is a 2nd gen, totally different setups, oumoose dosent even have coild springs at all

to oumoose
for ride quality, AAL and a shackle for the rear
uca a tbar crank for the front
this will negatively affect yoru handling though, as your center of gravity will be higher but you front suspension isnt any stiffer, and your stance isnt any wider

It is for all of our good. Please read, heed, and post up in that thread after you update it. Thanks guys! I appreciate it!-James

To Oumoose, I recommend a PML just because it is cheap.

If you want to go higher, Buy some UCA's and an AAL.

The beauty of the PML is that if you decide to go higher, then you already have the shackles!

Ok, let me see if this works.

And, yeah I see the point of doing the PML first I guess. So, how much lift can you get if you do a PML then do a UCA and AAL?

With just the PML you can get 1.5" and with the AAL and the UCA you can make it to 3" :)

I thought I could get 3" by doing the UCA and new leaf packs? So, if I add shackles and torsion adjmustments can I get to 4.5"?

NO!!!!!! when you get the new control arms you use the t-bars to lift the X....... when you lift it to where you have 1/2 distance between the stops and the control arm you cant add anymore lift out of it unless you get the TC setup with coilover shocks...... but th rear will be alright with the shackels just it will sit 1.5" higher in the rear.....

Well, technically, if you get the longest shackles and the largest leaf pack you could get a lot out of the rear, but you have to get the same amount up front and in the rear. You can't mess with that. The highest you could go with new AC or Calmini UCA's is 3" Bottom line, with stock UCA's you can only lift 1.5 up front. With Calmini or AC UCA's you can go 3". At no point should you change EVER go higher on either end.
