i've got an 06 X with stock tires, & havent done any real offroading besides tearing up some grass lots. ahaha, i live in florida so im not going to be doing any mountain climbing or anything like that, i was wondering if the stock tires are good for mudding and things like that. do they get stuck easily? just inform me on there real limits.
Also some friends of mine recently died in a car accident where there trail blazer flipped, so im wondering how easy X flip?

well i live in fl too. so welcome. also x's flip just as well as any other suv. also your stock tires will do alright in light off roading but check out this www.treadwright.com they have good reliable tires for cheaper. as for getting stuck any truck can get stuck, ive seen a truck with 16 inch lift and 46's get stuck as sh!t. so with all this said. if your all that worried about rolling upgrade your shocks and sway bars and build a exo cage with be the extreme.but if the accident is all that bad then there is no stopping it. wear your seat belt and hope for the best.
where abouts in florida are you

I've seen a few X's wheeled with stock tires and they did ok on the easier trails. They won't help you much in sticky mud though.

stock tires haven't gotten me stuck, but I still can't wait for the tread to go and upgrade!

There's a couple decent trails around me that I can't even think of going on because of my tires. They're not the BFG stockers that came on X's, they're Runway Enduro HT's and they SUCK. They slip in a half an inch of snow, they slip on a handful of sand on the pavement, they slip on damp pavement, they've even slipped on dry pavement. I cannot wait until they're down to the wear indicators so I can ditch them. Problem is, they seem to be lasting for-friggin'-ever.
I took my X on a snowmobile trail through the woods last fall, had a lot of good off-camber stuff, some very tight squeezes, a few small spots of mud but was mostly small (14"-28") rock. I needed 4wd, but neither the Heep Liberty nor the Taco I was with needed 4wd.
I blame my first and third stucks on my tires. (The second was my own stupidity :D). Once my tires FINALLY wear down I'm planning on going with GY Duratracs, or maybe some BFG MT's. Possibly some Kelly Safari TSR's, it all depends on what sizes I can find and what prices seem good.

Just start doing burnouts or e brake slides. They will be gone in no time. :)

^Lol Tom...
E-brake slides in the X scare me, and my truck won't burnout for all its' worth...damn brake/throttle override technology.

Stock tires = stuck in mud.... Check out goodyear Duratracs... Great AT tire
Tires are the single best mod one can do

I have stock tires, one actually has a small leak, I just don't care for them because I plan on upgrading post lift.
But they'll do fine light offroading, if you're not in thick mud you'll be fine. I climbed a 9 foot sand hill which was pretty steep and the X did it so I think you're fine. I torture test my tires to be honest and they're holding up fine.
BUT THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH GOING FOR AN UPGRADE, THATS WHY WE'RE HERE! :D :D ;) ;) :) :)

You'll slide around quite a bit on the stock tires in mud. A good AT or MT will help out quite a bit. The stock tires are no good if you ride trails with a lot of rocks. They'll pop like balloons. The most imporant thing to do when you go for new tires is to get a Light Truck (LT) tire instead of the Passenger (P) tires that are stock.
The X will flip just as easy as other SUVs, but the X's roof gets very high ratings for its strength and durability in rollover crash tests.
