: I just got ripped off
nicholas112481 02-12-2008, 05:36 PM I know I live in Alaska and everything is higher to ship up here. I ordered the Calmini add a leafs and those run 150, the shipping was 115 for that crap. That is way too much and on top of that they said they are running behind from volume of orders and it will not be shipped for 5-8 bussiness days.
Drake 02-12-2008, 05:42 PM That sux man. Is there a way to cancel your order or are they claiming it is too late? I would ditch Calmini and try your luck with AC.
nicholas112481 02-12-2008, 07:50 PM I know I will do that from now own.
json3904 02-12-2008, 08:09 PM well if you want check out how much it would cost to ship to me (77541) then check to see if it would be cheaper for me to ship to you....... i would be willing to help you out if its cheaper.......
soccerbrace 02-13-2008, 01:39 AM Jason is the Man. I would cancel, and go with AC. 5-8 business days is B.S. That's not gonna happen. Took them a month and a half with my lift kit.
nicholas112481 02-13-2008, 08:46 AM The only thing with AC is that the add aleaf with them adds 3 inches. I dont know if that will work with the calmini shackles and it says you need new shocks with it or I could go the way of the short add a leaf. They just look crappy to me. Jason thanks for the offer I will check into that.
haha I just canceled my order with Calmini.
I just called AC and they hooked me up . I went with the single add a a leaf for 65 and total with shipping was only 114 better that around 260.
Drake 02-13-2008, 09:43 AM Glad you got that straightened out. I've placed a few orders with AC lately and they have really come through with great service.
strikedistance 02-16-2008, 08:59 PM Not to be the bearer of bad news but single add-a-leafs seem to give people a lot of trouble with it cracking the other leafs. Oh and the 3 add-a-leaf only adds 1.5inchs of lift. Its around 3 combined with the shackles.
Hope everything works though. And post some pictures when your done.

sorry but you are wrong!!!!!! i have the 3aal's and i had to put the stock shackles on due to the fact that the calmini made my rear end sit with over 5" of lift....... i loved the height of the rearend if only i could match it in the front.....
Ricer-X 02-17-2008, 07:28 AM also
i have the single aal
i have wheeled ALOT, and HARD, ive had them on for over 2 years now, they dont even creak, much less crack
now, if the stock one are rusty as hell(like on my 4runner) and saggin like json's bewbz(like on my 4runner) then of course theres a risk of them cracking, but that solely bc of the difference in the strength of the material
in which case if your stock ones are rusty as hell and saggin, they shoudl be replaced anyway
fortunately for me, my 4runner isnt a 4,200lb beast like me X
the runner dosent even top 3k stripped like it is
nicholas112481 02-17-2008, 08:59 AM Yea my ride is in mint condition it only has 6000 miles on it. The reason I went with the single vs. the others was shipping price to Alaska. The single was 40 bucks to 135 for the other. The single says on the page that it raises the xterra up 2 1/2 inches and with my shackles I will have 4 in the rear.
json3904 02-17-2008, 11:25 AM sounds good.... are you going to try to get 4" out of the front.....
mgblanke 02-18-2008, 03:35 PM Yea man i have the single AAL and now problems yet...Also i would ditch Calmini as well. AC is AWESOME and i have ordered stuff on monday and had it by thursday!
nicholas112481 02-18-2008, 07:20 PM How can I get some more lift out of the front. I have the spacers so I will have 2.5 in front and around 4 in back.
Hello anyone?
Ricer-X 02-20-2008, 12:24 PM ok man
i know there is a 5" lift for the 2nd gen, i own a first gen so i dont really know, but with minimal search not even close to the ends of the internet i found
http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/index.php3?page=shop/browse&category_id=e8ee17ee53efb99eff24481c3a2cd467&ps_session=7338a4e0e92e43e53f67f6e98a9a92ea
the first 2 apply to your model X
wait a min
whoa
have you gotten longer shocks?
4" of lift on either end of your vehicle and you need longer shocks bud
nicholas112481 02-20-2008, 01:41 PM They are ordered.
Ricer-X 02-20-2008, 01:45 PM GOOD SHIZ MAN
id hate to see you doing all that suspensino lift stuff and your lift and wheel travel being stopped by your short shocks!
nicholas112481 02-20-2008, 01:47 PM How hard is it to put new shocks on in the rear and about how long does it take.
Ricer-X 02-20-2008, 01:56 PM i dunno about the 07(2nd gen) but on a first gen, i can change out the rear shocks in less than 30min
nicholas112481 02-20-2008, 05:05 PM Thanks for the help
nicholas112481 02-25-2008, 10:04 PM I got the aal on today and it looks awesome. It took the shop a hour to put it on and my ride looks great.
Drake 02-25-2008, 10:38 PM Well where's the pics man!? lol Let's see how she sits now.
Oh and I got the TC sticker in the mail to you but it missed the pick up time so it won't actually go out until tomorrow. But it's headed that way eventually. hahaha
