The area we ride is a bit south of Inverness.

I'll have to map quest it and see how far it is. I'll have to plan a ride out for one of these sometime.

You might try Map Questing Tillis Hill Recreation Area. Tillis Hill is with in a mile (or so) of where we will enter the forest on Trail #13.

It says it's an hour and fourty six mins and 87 miles on Google maps. I'll have to plan that one out in the future...lol That's a little bit of a haul.

It is tuff to justify over 3 ½ hours of travel time to & from the trail system for a simple day ride. When you factor in the cost of gas to the travel time it is even a harder sell. It takes me a little over an hour each way if I do the trip nonstop. Where do you normally ride?

No where really. There aren't any public or private trails around that I know of. My father in law has some property that I ride around on but it's nothing special. I wish we had an off road park around here.

Your location says Central Florida….How far are you from Ocala?

It's probably about an hour to an hour and a half from me. Wish it was closer...

Being 1 to 11/2 hours away from Ocala is not so bad. That is about what it takes me to get to Citrus. Ocala is huge compared to Citrus. We can easily drive all the trails worth driving at Citrus in less then ½ a day. You could spends days driving the trails in Ocala plus there is Hardrock and the pits to play in. From my house it would be a solid 2 ½ + hour drive to nearest trail in Ocala. Have you ever gone to Hardrock or any of the lettered pits in the area?

I havent been to Citrus yet but would be willing to drive out there one day. I know there is a group from Tampa that go out quite a bit. We could always venture Richloam too but i dont know the area so we would have to figure something out as far as finding our way around.

Yeah I'd be willing to ride out one day too. Steve, maybe we could get a few guys from our neck of the woods to caravan out there.

Post something if you guys plan a ride at Citrus or Richloam. I know Citrus well and usually can find my way around in Richloam. If you would like I would be happy to guide you around Citrus. I know a few good trails/areas to ride at Richloam but I am not as comfortable leading people there. The Richloam trails can get tight and be wet. I do not know of any trails at Richloam that I can guarantee no vehicle damage on.

When we rode on the 20th we split the day between Citrus and Richloam.

Yeah, if we can get some guys to ride out and Yell X for a ride i am down if it is a weekend i can. For me Saturdays would be best. I know Citrus has some good areas to flex out some articulation from pics i have seen with a club from tampa.

Pick the date and as long as it clears the family planning committee I will be there.

Maybe we can set something up in the next couple months. We have an FNA meet the first weekend of May and we can see if anyone is interrested in coming out then.

Richloam is not that bad of a drive from the Orlando area. Basically you need to get on 50 and head west.

Some of the TBAJA members got together for a Sunday Croom ride. They said it was wet out there. The pictures they posted would give you a good idea of what Richloam would be like.
