Just wanted to say hey!
I've got a 2002 X V6 4x4 Auto with an intake and a fresh tune-up.
I'm looking for more power, so I'll probably have the local exhaust shop fab up a cat back soon, but not many other plans for it, other than some off-road lights and stuff.
Well,
see ya on the boards

What's up Jason9696!?

Have you met Json3904? He was your predecessor. I didn't know that there were more prototype Jasons in production still.

Welcome to the Club! :wink-big:

Not many other plans for it eh? Careful what you say... off road lights and STUFF leaves a lot of open possibilities for upcoming mods. hahaha

I've said before that I was not going to mod my Xterra until the warranty expired in late 2009. I've almost finished phase one of my mods and I've only had mine 5 months.

Ask anybody here... when the mod bug bites, there is no cure other than more mods.

Enjoy your X and whatever "stuff" you decide to put on it. :mocking:

Thanks for all the replies, I've had the X now for about 8 months and I love it.

Aaron - I did check those out, the only thing I'm hesitant about is the ease of installation. That would be a great power adder though.

Ah yes, the mod bug has been on my back since I got the X. I've already tinted the windows to 5%, and put a decent sound system in it so I'm ready to tackle some performance mods to help me tow my landscape trailer this summer. The tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor) made a huge difference.

Here's a newb question for y'all, the V6 has a timing belt, not chain right? If so, when do people change them?

Thanks!

Yes it has a timing belt and the scheduled mileage is around 105K for the replacement but it never hurts to take a peek at it and see how it's doing.

That's what I thought, how bad is the install? I'm at 103K right now :(

I can't say myself but a fellow member has a "how-to" sticky on doing it for an '02 so you can read it and see if it's within your abilities.
