So we made a bit of a scouting run today to get more familiar with the park in preparation for the "Meet". Weather was perfect. It was my first time there and while it is a small park (500 acres), it has a pretty good number of trails ranging in difficulties. Most parks this size seem to cater to the buggies, extreme rigs and atv's but this one seems to be pretty balanced for what I saw. Has a few nasty trails, a few difficult trails and a lot of moderate/easy trails. Although I will say, this park's difficulty easily doubles in or after a rain. Some of the hill climbs are "clinching" and would be a good challenge in wetter conditions.

Nice pictures guy. I didn't get any because I refused to carry my phone. I was soaking wet the majority of the day due to lack of fender protection lol

Those two land rovers in the last pic were really about the only true offroad ready LR's in the group. Hell, 4 of them still had stickers on the windows. The guy driving that black LR was really cool (Reggie is his name). I talked with him for about 20 minutes while he and I were airing up at the end of the day.

It was quite comical at their driver's meeting to see them all in slacks and button-downs and wearing tennis shoes, loafers or moccasins. I swear I saw one with a wifey riding shotgun reading a book on the trails. :D

I was really wanting to hit "Cow Skull" but still a bit leary after the abuse I put X-Ray through on my last two trail runs. Plus I've got a brand new gas tank that I'm just not quite ready to bash in like my last one. Just can't seem to scrounge up the extra coin to buy/build a skid for it. Tax season for me seriously blows. Anybody have any kids they want to loan me so I can claim some dependents? :hilarious:

Some of those trails look really tight but if a herd of Land Rovers can squeeze through them, a 2nd gen X will be fine. :)

I'd like to hit that park at least one more time before the meet. Sometime in April or later this month maybe? I've got a couple of shows that month but the dates aren't finalized and I don't know if they will be on the weekends yet or not. One is in Nashville and if it times out right, I could just come down from there. The other is in Vegas... yeah... not gonna make it back for a run. lol

I like the mud there much better than CC. It comes off so much easier than that clay-based s*** up there. :D

And that bed liner I used on my frame rails is completely unscathed. I'm very impressed. With the amount of rock I was spinning up on my sliders, it should have flaked it at least a little bit. I know the herculiner coating I had on there before didn't survive my first wheeling trip. I'm loving that stuff!

It is pretty fun to go down, depending on the mods to your truck depends on how fast you can go down it.
