Just moved to the area in the fall and wanted to find out what is going on the area locally and if there any local clubs/groups?

Cheers

The Arizona Xterra Club is pretty much dead.

Check out Nissan4wheelers.com. Good group of people and very knowledgeable.

Where in the Phoenix Metro are you located? I'm over in the Mesa/Tempe area near Tempe Marketplace. I'd be happy to take you on on some fun IFS friendly trails when you get your rig built up a bit.

I live in fountain hills, so not far from mesa. Yes my stock truck is waiting for its mods. Just trying to get everything planned, ordered and sorted. Would love to know the local trails. I have some guide books but real knowledge is always better. So hopefully in the next weeks as I get mods done on the truck I can head out.

cheers

Cool... there are plenty of good places out around Fountain Hills to wheel and explore the AZ desert, even in a stock 4x4.

I figured but I'm a AZ noob, I just love this place and I'm really looking forward to finding trails and meeting like minded people.:)

speaking of local area stuff, do you have any recommendations on a shop that will mount and balance tires and do alignments on lifted X's:)

Any shop that does tires/wheels/alignments will do it. I would recommend AZ Best Tire for, well...tires. It is locally owned family run - ask for Andrew. Discount Tire isn't bad either.

I'd go to Firestone for the alignment since they offer a lifetime one, which I have always done and it pays for itself pretty quick if you wheel you truck.

Welcome to the Valley of the Sun! There are several Nissan "clubs" in Phoenix:

AZXC (www.azxterraclub.com)
ONAZ (www.nissanoffroad.net)
SWANKy (www.nissan4wheelers.com)
AZ Titans (www.titantalk.com)

I put "club" in quotes because all of them are loose knit organizations. But, all of them have a great bunch of guys and girls, and I try to stay in touch with all these groups.

A few of us are heading out to The Coves @ Saguaro Lake on April 9th. This is a 4x4 run, and there are a few tight spots, so you'll get some scratches. That being said, any stock 4x4 will be able to do this run.

I'll post a separate thread with more information.

You mentioned firestone was a good place for an alignment and there is a lifetime version. I have been reading posts however that sound pretty ugly about how most chains will not do alignments other then to the factory specs and/or they charge you double. Mind you these where form guys up in the north east. Is that not a problem here in the valley?:)

Hey Welcome to Arizona. I live in flagstaff but would love to run a trail somewhere in between here in Phoenix sometime. My truck is also stock except for tires but know a few good trails.

Welcome to AZ. There is a local firestone that does an alignment for me, the store manager's wife drives an X. Josh is his name and the location is;
Firestone Complete Auto Care Store
Store # 013587
5449 S Central Ave
Phoenix, AZ 85040-3050
(602) 268-1421

They are in a not so good neighborhood, but pretty good people there!

I'd love to find a place in central phoenix to get advice on my x relating to basic mods, etc. Anyone?

4 by 4 parts in central phoenix are good, had to use there shop to press out a seized bushing, they have tons of general stuff but not a lot of specific parts for X's. The forums hear are the best for advise specific to the X, and you should try to read all posts by TJTJ. He is a moderator and the go to guy on all topics:coolsun:
