Hi everyone - first post here.

My '07 2x4 S is 13 months old and for about the last few months it's had this annoying squeeking noise coming from somewhere in the rear of the cabin.

It occurs when driving and the slightest road inperfections make it almost constant. I can also hear it sometimes when I'm idling at a light, but is very quiet then. It also squeeks sometimes outside the car when I close the door. So you can hear it from inside and out, which makes it hard to determine where to look to lube or tighten something.

When I go to the rear cabin and push and tug everything, it all seems tight. I can only assume it's coming from the chasis or suspension, but I have no idea what to do.

So does anyone have any experience with anything like this? Could you fix it? I'd really like to avoid a trip to the dealer.

I had the same thing on my 06. This is gonna sound weird but try it...open the hood and on the strip above the radiator and headlights you will see three round rubber hood supports/bumpstops. One on each side and one in the middle by the hood latch. Crank them up about 2-3 full turns and see if that helps.

I had the same squeak that I thought was coming from the back. While listening closely one day I could tell it was actually coming from the front. I adjusted these bumpstops and it went away.

Another thing it to check is the cover on the inside of the rear hatch. Make certain it is correctly installed. If loose it could squeak also as you go over bumps and stuff.

The hood squeek, My 07 4X4 s had a mysterious squeek. It would squeek when driving over small bumps at low speed. It the noise came from "everywhere" but was louder in the front. Thanks to the forums here I used some Duralube on the hood hinges and haven't heard it in over 2000 miles. It was maddening having a 2 week old car squeek. The local dealer didn't have a clue. I hope that I can find a good dealer in the Philadelphia area, any reccomendations? Drexel Hill Nissa gave me a good price on the car, but gave me some problems paying off my trade (they didn't for 44 days). I won't be going back. Dwight

IT WORKED!!! Thanks man, I owe you...or something ;)

This morning I pictured myself having had to go to the dealer, leave my car there for the day, get new scratches on my paint from their carelessness, pay at least $50, and the squeek still being there and being FURIOUS. Thank you so much for saving me from that.
