I just paid $160 for my 04. Expect to pay probably at least double that.

I solely depends on your local sales tax. There are some loop holes that you can get through. For example, the tax where I live is x% in the city limits but y% outside the city limits. The difference was a few hundred dollars when I bought my X. City limits being the more expensive. Most places are set up like that. Plowing, trash, city water/sewer are a few of the reasons why it's more in the city limits.

I'm assuming that you just bought your X and are plating it for the first time? My example is a one-time scenario that occurs the FIRST time you plate the vehicle, not every year(thank god)

When I bought mine, I checked with a lot of stealerships and they base their sales tax on your zip code and not so much where you bought it. Which also coincides with county fees.

In Adams County i ended up paying approx $580
And i live in Aurora

what gets me is back in Sept. 5 months ago i paid $270 for plates for my FJ cruiser. they only gave me a $60 credit for new plates. i would have thought atleast $135 since it wasnt even half a year.

2011 Pro-4X in Colorado Springs was $580.00 with a $120.00 credit from a previous registration....so about $700.00.

If that doesn't torque you off the 2 hour wait just to pay for them will!

This is off subject, but I'm looking for some other Xterras to go 4 wheeling with. I live in Lakewood. Probably going sunday. Let me know if anyone is interested. I also work for Nissan, so I'm a good person to know lol.

Stop you're scaring me. I just bought my Pro-4X last week. Oh well I'll just have to enjoy it until the bill comes. Ignorance can be bliss, especially when it comes to the Gov't

Damn guys.. I forget what the initial fee for tags are here, but after that its $38 or so a year for them to send you a new registration sticker for the plate (and also a once a year inspection with ranges depending on the shop charges and if you have to get emissions and if so what level... but for me its typically $30 for the yearly inspection)
