First off, hello!
Just bought my 2005 Xterra, and I am currently on my way to Alaska. My plan is to make it into an great offroading machine. I want to start with the lift kit, but have only found small body lifts online. The closest thing I found to a serious lift is the Calmini, which won't be availiable for another month or so. Do you all know of any other serious lift kits. I would like to be able to run at a minimum 33's, but would like to shoot for 35's.
Thanks for all the help, I look forward to the forum and the X!

SLR also has a 5" lift in the works. It'll be a better kit than the Calmini but also about twice as much. No matter which lift you put on you will not fit 35's. If you did the 5" lift and a 3" body lift they might, but the rear wheel wells will just not allow 35's. You also have the question of if the front axles and diff can stand up to 35's.

Does SLR have a website where I could get more information? My searches haven't worked out for me yet...

I talked to the guys at SLR and they said their 5" lift was going to cost about $3500. It's a little hard to stomach that amount unless I was planning on racing (which I am not). Does anyone have any experience with calmini parts? I am having a hard time believing that there can be a $1500 (or so) difference in two kits that propose to do the same thing. An enlightment would be appreciated!

They are not the same. SLR is a much better design as it basically replaces everything including the coil over shocks. The Calmini system basically just moves everything down.
The end result is the same as far as lift, but the performance is not the same. If you wheel the SLR kit will be much better. If you spend very little time on the trail and are doing it more for looks, the Calmini system is better.
That all being said, most everyone I know with the Calmini steering system has been replacing it with the L&P system because of how bad the Calmini system is.
