Until I crashed the DL in December (fixed and almost sold for a new Yamah XT1200Z) I had about 20 car days to work in the last 5 years. Getting off the bike while I was fixing it is really what brought me here.

I started driving the wife's Honda Pilot...and I thought. It's Xterra time...I'm going to destroy this F'n thing.

NISSAN4LIFE (on CX) has a GS500f.

I am seriously thinking of purchasing a Kawasaki Ninja 650R. The X uses gas like mad and I figure a bike as a second vehicle would be just the thing.

Cool. GS500F is one of those bikes that some folks think is a "starter"...but if you want competant, reliable and comfortable standard with some fairing...it's great.

I toured with mine about 25,000 miles before i sold it. Great bike--not sure if you mentioned it because you saw my set on Flickr...I had a nice one.

Anyway, 650R? Nice machine. I lean toward dual sport bikes...but I love a good sport bike that you can hang luggage on (hard or soft) and commute, tour or day-ride. and the 650R is one of them IMO...good machine.

More important though it cultivating your attitude toward riding and equipping YOU than anything else. Just my .02...not an expert at anything.
