I was going down E. Market st here in York. Traffic was flowing. I looked away for a minute and looked back and bam....there was a jeep cherokee. The fucked up thing is....the lane I was in I NEVER travel because traffic is always stopped (It's a 4 lane street). Oh well, nobody was injured and walked away. That's the important thing. I should know today or Monday if it's gonna be totaled or not. I really hope not. I built this rig and I love it. In fact, I'm still building it.

My fault. I was cited for it. My first accident that was my fault also.

The guy I hit was totally cool. I figured he was going to rip my head off. I felt bad for the guy. When I got out of the truck, his door wouldn't open, so he was trying to crawl through the window Dukes of Hazzard style. He was pretty disoriented and didn't know what the hell hit him. :(

Well. what matters is that you're OK. In the grand scheme of life, its just a truck, there'll be many vehicles in your life; this is just one. Learn from it, & move on.

By the way I will be 40 on May 25. I have learned over time to never brood over things that have happened; my fault or not. rolling in the muck is no way to get clean. Get up, shake it off, & move on.

What ever doesnt kill ya just makes you stronger. :)

that was a strnage direction for this post, humorous however.

ill agree that in the overall scheme, it is just a truck, i love my truck, flipped it off a 10' cliff, was heart broken... but i walked away, and for that i would have glady given up my truck. much better to total a material possesion you love than hardly damaging it and being stuck in a wheel chair for the remainder of you life, etc.

good luck akordboy, and keep us in the loop as far as how it turns out

Until I found out that they were gonna fix it, I was a little depressed. I built this truck from the ground up, so I have some love for it. ;)

So, the estimate on the truck was $6500. Instead of getting the stock steel fenders, I'm putting Hannemann fiberglass fenders on it. That'll give me way me way more wheel clearance. I also have my Schrock front bumper coming, so they will install that for me. :D

The jeep I hit was totaled. It was only worth $2900. The Caddy CTS that I pushed the jeep into has over $12,000 damage. The only thing that was damaged on his car was the rear end.

So, hopefully I will have my truck back by the end of the month. I think it all depend when Jim from Schrock will have my bumper done.

i had almost the same amount of damage to my truck on the same side. the cost to fix mine was about 5000-6000 dollars.
