so I just bought the 3 leaf add a leaf packs for my x. On the website it reccomnends taking out the overload leaf. What is that, where is it located and why should I remove it? I do tow a trailer a bit so wouldn't that help by kepping the extra leaf? I dunno.

the overload leaf is the big flat leaf at the bottom of your leaf springs
the leaf pack you are adding is gonig to add much strength to your existing leaf pack, enough to where the overload leaf is no longer necessary, plus, unless you AAL packs came with longer u-bolts, it wont fit anyway and you will have to remove it

well I made sure I got the aal set that came with the longer u-bolts. Is it bad to leave it on? My thinking is that unless there is a con to keeping it there, i would just rather leave it on rather than take it off and let it sit around or try and dispose of it.

i personally do not believe that with the 3 added leaves per side that you would ever reach the OL leaf, i doubt any of us has any business putting that much wieght in the back of an xterra
for example
i added a SINGLE leaf to each leaf, put 1400lbs of concrete tiles in the back of my truck(in the trunk and the rear seats to even it over the rear axle) i lost my 3" lift with all that weight, but that only brought it to a stock curve
so basically, you can leave it on if you want, in my opinion after the added packs they will be useless dead weght(and they are heavy)

but at this point since you have longer ubolts, its nothing more than personal preference

just be prepared for your longer ubolts to not be long enough to include the OLleaf, they have to be longer to fit the extra leafs, i dunno,

the u-bolts will not work with the overload leaf.... you do not need it.... just like ricer said the added leafs are stiffer than the stock... so even if you have it fully loaded down, you still wouldn't need it.... but if you want to leave it do so but you will need to buy longer u-bolts.... i know cause i have the 3AAL pack....
