My rear wiper sticks about 1 inch away from the glass. I can push it against the glass, but then it just bounces back away. When I move it farther from the glass it just stays there. It seems like whatever spring or tension that is supposed to be there has dissapeared. When I run the wiper it seems to operate fine, just can't wipe anything.
Can I somehow tighten it down, or replace the arm?

there is a spring inside the arm, that holds the tension... if it isnt there i would guess either find a spring that fit or replace the arm.....

I took a look last night and there is a spring in there. Guess I will have to replace the arm. :(

Nope!!!! You don't! I just fxed this on my buddy's X. It has nothing to do with the spring. It it the pivot point that is jammed.
1-pull the little cover off so you can access the bolt.
2-pull the bolt off (12mm)
3-Yank the wiper arm off.
4-pry open the pivot point from the arm a tad using a flathead screwdriver.
5-Spray the heck out of it with some penetrating oil or some wd-40. Move it back and forth and back and forth and back and forth.
The only reason the spring is not returning quickly is because the pivot point is jammed. You have to pull the arm so that you can exercise that freshly lubed pivot point.
Do not go buy a new one!
Let me know how that works. I just fixed my friend's an hour ago, and I thought I would take a look at it for you-James

James, I so owe you a sixer.
This took about 10 minutes, most of which was attempting to pull the arm off.
Thanks a ton man !!!!

Haha! Thanks man and thanks all! No sixer for me....don't drink, unless I am influenced by a female of course. Just pass this knowledge on to a fellow X owner. Have a good one-James
