Hey, new here and have a question...
I just purchased an xterra. I want to install a 7" deck with nav to replace the stock radio.
My main question is does anyone know if i will loose the built-in bluetooth for the vehicle?
Are there any others out there that have done this project? links?
Thanks

im pretty sure you will loose it unless there is a adapter for it.... i could be wrong though....

Thanks for the reply, I was talking to the dealership today and he said it should work. Something about it not going through the stereo... but that might just be him making me happy by giving me the answer i want to hear as it automatically mutes the audio when you press the bluetooth button on the steering wheel.
Are there any build threads someone can link me to where someone has done (I have tried looking but someone who's been here longer might be faster at searching then myself) Or any links to the electrical layout of the vehicle? I do not have the xterra just yet for the manual.
Thanks in advance :)

That's BS. Of course it goes through the stereo; that's how you here your phone conversation through the stereo speakers. Yes, you will lose your factory Bluetooth phone setup if you change out the head unit, but you can get a navigation head unit with built in Bluetooth. Also, you'll have to get an adapter to retain your steering wheel controls, and I'm assuming you have the Rockford stereo (since you have a Pro-4X and Bluetooth) which has an external amplifier, so it's a little more complicated than simply swapping out the head unit. Find a good stereo shop that has worked on a Nissan with an external amp, and they will get you sorted out with everything you need.

I wish there was some sort of schematic I could look at just to see what would have to be done.
From some of the Kenwood systems I have seen there are cables that use the steering wheel controls. and a few bluetooth wires that seem like with some time and possibly some converters one might be able to hook it all up. Of coarse I will go to an car audio specialist to see what they say.
Thanks for the input. If anyone has links to some reading materials I'd appreciate it.

The schematics you're looking for are in this, the factory service manual for the AV system. This is for a 2009, but it will be identical to your 2011.
