Hey i just got a 2004 xterra, looking for some good trails in the black hills of South Dakota. I would also like to offroad with other xterra's because i know there are few here. Basicaly i use my xterra for a daily driver and CAN NOT break anything offroading, but will definately test the limits of the vehicle, i really enjoy the outdoors but seem to go to the same trails up in the hills. I would appreciate if you guys could tell me or show me any trails you have gone on before that were chalenging but fun. Really more looking for someone or a group of Xterra's to offroad with. thanks

Well, you're going to break stuff off-road. There's really no way around it. It's going to happen unless you stick to fire roads/gravel roads/etc. as your off-roading experience, and even then it might still happen (in previous vehicles I've broken stuff typically associated with off-roading with out ever leaving the pavement). Anytime you test the limits of a vehicle you're eventually going to surpass those limits. Lots of guys and girls wheel their daily drivers though, so don't let that discourage you. A forum such as this is here to help get the word out on what most commonly fails off road, and how to repair it in the field or beef it up before you head out to keep you going and enjoying your rig, both on and off-road.
