Hello all Xers, My xer Is my wifes xer. I'm the mechainc. I use any resource I can to make my life easy. 2004 yellow named "Sunflower" I've been trying to find info on a coolant leak on the throttel body. found it yesterday while refueling. smelled coolant, found leak at Tb =. Just an O-ring? Any help? :wink-big:

The coolant leak you've got is from the wax pellet. There is an O-ring that needs replacing, as you suspected. Just pull it apart, and replace the O-ring (which Nissan won't sell on its own -- so you'll just have to match the size).

Here is a qoute from a Nissan Tech on the subject:

"Take out the pellet, take the old o-ring down to either a NAPA or a hardware store and match up the o-ring and stick the whole thing back in!

When you take the wax pellet out though, stick it in a vice and keep it from expanding any further. Don't try to compress it, but just keep it from popping out or expanding beyond the ability of not being able to get it back in and having the throttle actuator going back in place properly.

Oh, last note, be carefull when taking out the phillips head screw. It might a little (a lot!) tight. DON'T TAP THE SCREW! You run the chance of breaking of the aluminum piece off the throttle chamber, and that would really suck. Just get some needle nose vise grips on it and get it loose that way, if it's siezed in place."

Nope, not uncommon at all. Most people start to see it around 60k miles or more, but it varies.

Thanks for all your help Anthony. I'll go to my work and get the o-ring kit and match it up. It's nice to know we the people help each other.
