So I'm a newbie to the site, but I bought my gf an Xterra back in '04 and it's been a money truck for us...Love Nissan/Infinity, sold for life on their products...Lurked around a few times for some general info, we've kept hers pretty stock, she's a teacher, doesn't drive far to school and we wanted a 6 cyl. SUV so it's been the perfect compliment to my G35 sedan...
Question...Her right rear tailight bulb is out and I tried to switch it out last night and I must be mechanically lost, because after I remove the two screws, I can't get the lens cover or housing off to save my life...Checked the owner's manual and tried to find somethings through the search but found nothing...Anybody clue a brother in here...does it rotate or slide out or am I just missing the boat here?
Thanks
Anthony

Once you remove the 2 screws, just pull the light housing straight back. It will pop right off, and you can then change the bulb and pop it back in. Then replace the 2 screws, and you're done.

That's what I thought, I just didn't want to look like the fool that pulled her car apart and broke it in the process...Just didn't seem like it wanted to slide off...Guess I gotta man up!
Thanks for the welcome, like I said, always good to meet Nissan Owners, smart people..
Live in Flower Mound, just north of Dallas up by Grapevine Lake...Not too many place to get the beast out, but my girls parents have a ranch in Crawford so it's a free for all when we go to her house..
Thanks again gents.....may your fenders find mud, and your coozie a cold beverage

Not too far from me, about 2.5 hours or so...Never been there but I'll have to convince the girl we need to go for a "scenic picnic"...
Thanks for the link....Hit me up if you're up in Dallas and I'll show you some of the local trails we hit...

Thanks gents...Don't know if it was the unusually cold weather down here or the fact it hasn't been disassembled in 3+ years, but that housing did not want to come off....I essentially had to pry it off...But we're all good now and all-in-all it took less than 10 minutes, so thanks again fellas..Wish I would have never found the site though, got visions of mods running through my head with the sounds of cash registers ringing...

Just throw in the towel and go ahead and buy some lift shackles and do your PML. Oh and don't tell her about doing it and see what happens the first time she gets in it or out of it. I did mine last week and nearly fell on my face when I was getting out.
