It's the off road model so it has a rear locker, Ive heard of Evans and that it's really tight so I wouldnt think an X could make it without body damage. What areas have you taken yours?

i havent taken my x on many trails and almost everywhere i get clear coat scratches.. i ran evean in my samurai before i sold it .. it was pretty tight but i know guys running 4runners all day up there with no problems..but i know some trails around.. http://outhouseoffroad.com/ has maps of trails.. i know there is a place up north out of gold bar .. dont remeber the name tho.. alot of fire roads get kinda tricky in the tinkahm rd area off i90 tward the pass .. depends on what you looking for..

My X is still bone stock, and it's really cold outside.

So, if anyone knows of some mellow back roads with minimal probability of getting stuck, I'm interested. Otherwise, I think I'm going to stay on pavement until summer. :)

I'm in Redmond. Anything in King County would be great, but I might be persuaded to go further.

Evan's Creek was always a good time, there's a ton of logging roads/forest roads out there to have a blast on.

One of the milder areas I like to go explore is around the Wilkeson/Carbonado area. Stick to the FS roads and see if you can make it high enough to see an overview of the whole valley. Not sure this year whats open/closed. Considering our weather I'd expect most of the roads to be too deep in snow to go too far. I've read a few trip reports from a local club that they drove forward on a side road for 20 min and spent 3.5hrs doing a daisy chain winch recovery to finally back out.

I think they've gated most of the roads in the Tinkham area for the winter.

One thing you'll want if you do go off-road are front & rear recovery points, either a tow or snatch strap and enough supplies that you won't freeze to death if you do get stuck or you end up outside the vehicle overnight. Of course the best advice is don't go out alone (meaning more than 1 rig) and leave a trip plan with someone so if you don't call by late evening they know to send some help.

thrtr are a lot of fire roads and a wheeling area out of gold bar im not sure on the name but you can stop at a gas station im sure you could figure it out.. i know its by gold bar nature trails its a camp group..

couldnt agree more about not being alone and making sure you have everything you could imagine if you got stuck.. been there before.. bring everything you know or think you will need and 3 of everything you think you will never need..lol
