I will start off saying yes I did use the search function on the forums. Having said that I've also read numerous posts made by people concerned with the safety issues of taking their sway bar off. However what I wasn't able to find granted I did get tired while searching through the 499 thread results I got(didn't read them all), was a picture or even a quick heres where the thing is. I don't need a full DIY I just need to know what I'm looking for so I don't screw up and take off something important. Thanks guys

Ok look at your axel youll see this bar right on it . You cant miss it, also the rear swaybar upon flex damages your passenger rear shock so thats a good thing to loose it no as far as takin it off just take your time or saw it off to take pressure off it then take out all the bolts thats what i did . Handeling in the rear is so much better alot more flex it also lets your suspension flex independently well sort of

I think the reason you didn't find a how-to, or anything similar, is because everyone sort of assumes that everyone else knows what a sway bar is. We sometimes forget that some folks are really new to cars, parts, and working on them.

Here is a diagram of the rear suspension assembly, showing the sway bar (56230):

Thanks for the diagram I had looked but I wasn't sure if it was the one that wrapped up and around the diff or the one that just boxed out from it to the back. I wasn't complaining that I couldn't find the information I just didn't want people thinking I hadn't done any looking on my own and was just posting without attempting to find anything myself.

BTW, the 2ng gens ('05+) don't have the shock damage problem, that was only on the 1st gens. The only reason to remove one on a 2ng gen, is if you are a hard core wheeler and need the extra flex.

Yeah I found that out today trying to find out which one it was. I literally read between 50 and 60 threads of everyone explaining the same thing over and over to everyone that asked if they should take it off or not.

Yep, lol.

It's kind of a personal thing really. I've driven ones with (I still keep mine on), and without, and I feel big difference in the ride quality, (it's way more unstable to me personally, but maybe it's my racing background), but some people say they can't tell any difference at all. So the only way to know for sure, is it to try it yourself, if you're looking for that little extra flex.

Sounds like a plan then I'll pop it off and drive around for a bit and see how it feels
