Just wanted to say "hello" to everyone as I have just signed up.

I purchased my X-Terra about 9-10 months ago. It's an 2002 SE 4x4 with the SC and I must admit, I really enjoy (almost love) driving this vehicle.

I'm a car nut, so when driving down the road I often say to myself, "I would like this one and that one" lol. When they put the round lights on the X-Terra grill back in 02, I said to myself "that one"!

I must admit that I was after an 07 FJ. I shopped them, my family and I drove them and I still would like to have one. They have killer safety features and looks (the anti-hummer IMO). I couldn't justify the 30k pricetag.

I cross shopped the used X-Terras and found that after selling my current car (Cobra Mustang) I could have a paid off X-Terra.

I picked her up for 13,500 private party with I think 62k miles. Negotiated with the owner about the maintenance and agreed to have Nissan do about 500.00 worth and split it in half. So 13,750 was the total deal. At the time with my shopping research, you couldn't touch it for less than 15k. So I feel I got a good deal.

Every time I drive it, it just goes and goes with not a care in the world! This is my first car where I don't worry about the paint, dirt, kid vomit or running crap over on the interstate. If there is something on the passenger seat and someone wants to get in, I huck it into the back, no problem. Freaking love it! When I wash her, shines up like a new penny! Has more features than any car I ever owned, 4x4, a little blower whine, radio controls on the steering wheel, a compass, first aid kit, 6 disc cd (always wanted one!) wow!

Now, I don't mistreat my vehicles, but I do use them. I keep a coat of wax on her and properly maintained at all times.

I can use some links. I will be needing an air filter soon, so what do you guys recommend? Prob a K&N?

Any lifts (mild) available for these?

Would like to put some lights up top, in front of the parcel tray. Is there a kit or??

Any known problems with 2002's or known common problems with these vehicles?

What is the best known tire size without ANY clearance issues on the 02 4x4's (stock).

I recently had the fuel filter, plug wires and spark plugs replaced after a minor misfire issue. Hey, she shook like crazy all the way home with my family inside and the Christmas tree up top. Never failed, +1 X-Terra.

Thanks everyone!!!

Jason, you the man for that!

Hey Luv, My Xterra!!!! What's your first name? I know that it isn't LUV.

Yeah, Jason hit it on the nose with that one. Whenever you have a question just pop in the key word in that search tool and there are usually tons of results. If not, throw it out there and we can answer!!!!!

Oh and for future reference, the Xterra is very easy to work on!!!! minust the 6th plug ; )

That is what Jason is getting at. That last plug is tucked away and is extremely difficult to get at. A lot of times, a mechanic will just replace 5 of them and not the 6th. When you do the plugs ,you might start to wonder if you have the 5 cylinder version because the #6 is so hard to get to.

Welcome to the club once again! It is great to have you here!!!

Lol! Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Yeah, I saw all six of them! The guy that did the work owns a local shop and he is a big car nut himself. I take all of our cars to his shop for smog checks and when I took my stang found out he had a nicely modded Camaro Z-28. Started shooting the bull and are now buddies. He likes bikes too!

I put a Vortech blower on my Mustang last year (sold 4 X-Terra) and am through with working on cars for awhile. Was a nightmare and took me and some buddies a couple weeks. Injectors, plugs, fuel pump, bat relocation, aftercooler, chip, dynotune bla bla bla, forget all that crap, lol.

I might mod some lights and an air cleaner on this thing and thats about it!

Thanks for ALL the answers everyone but I do have another question.

How do you run power to the roof for the lights without putting a hole in the roof? Is there a special access point or just Black and Decker??

Thanks again!
