I must be missing something. What does a bent steering system on Gen1 has to do with a Rancho? The steering system will bend when the wind blow on those.
Also the Gen2's have steering racks.

I agree, makes no sense. The only complaints I can find seem to be limited to "Rancho sucks". Ok so that's the consensus, I get that. Can anyone tell me why? Something informative that will explain it? The only gripe I saw that had any merit so far was the guy saying that the kit didn't include anything to improve the steering system. I would think that he could have figured that out on his own. Besides, if the best advice is to piece together your own kit, why would an incomplete kit be problem? Couldn't a guy just supplement it?

So what's actually wrong with the pieces that DO come with the Rancho kit? I believe my truck already has them, so are they gonna give me cancer or something? Is there something specific to watch out for? I was almost thinking it was a cost effectiveness issue, so therefore Rancho would be a ripoff, therefore they suck....I could understand that. But for someone who already has it on his truck, would there be a reason to get rid of it?

Well on the link that I posted, I have never seen such damage to and IFS SL on an X

This is what you want to read. You literally have better flex with stock suspension

Did you check out that

Doesn't it reuse the stock torsion bars, and if so, how would that really limit the flex? Isn't it basically just a torsion bar crank, with a corrected UCA?

It's true, what was a good bit of damage on the thread you posted. It looked like it all came from the centerlink flopping around. But to me, it seems that none of that would have happened if he had good idler arms, or idler arm braces. What does that have to do with the rancho UCA and torsion bar crank?

I've seen the fourwheeler article before, but I never noticed the reduced RTI scores. I would have to say that the reduced flex would have to have everything to do with the AAL in the back. I've never been a fan of AAL's anyway. Who wants an increased spring rate in something that they're gonna wheel? In that respect, I'd say that the concept of the AAL rear lift sucks, not necessarily rancho's implementation of it. If you're looking for flex, you most definitely should NOT use a lift kit that utilizes an AAL in the rear.

That's easy enough for me to fix though. I think I'll just yank out the AAL and go for a shackle lift, maybe a set of revolver style shackles? Hmm....

I still have no reservations about the rancho kit in the front however. Unless someone can show me a well established trend of the UCA breaking or something, then I see no reason for all the rancho bashing. AAL bash all you want however, and you'll have my full support.

but why buy a 2" lift when you can get the 3" that is a far better product????? the rancho limits flex.... and the AAL i have i still get a tremendous amount of flex out of the rear end..... i found a couple of threads a while back but cant seam to find them now.... but when i do i will post them.....

Well I didn't buy the 2" rancho kit, so that's not a factor for me. I'm just looking for proof that the rancho is no good in the front. I need a scientific reason for why it limits flex before I can rest. Well, actually, I won't lose any sleep over it. But you know what I mean.
