My past few wheeling trips have been in substantial amounts of mud. For the past few weeks, if I have a spare dollar or two I pull into the car wash for a little more high pressure rinsing on the undercarriage. My question(s) being, are there lube points I need to check and relube if necessary such as bushings, ball-joints etc.? Are the Xterra's wheel bearings sealed or can you break them down and repack them with grease? Do I need to do a check on the t-case and differential as well?
I try to avoid mud for the very reason of the damage it does to internals but lately it's been unavoidable. After my first 4x4 I've learned that much more goes into cleaning a vehicle after you've had it offroad than just washing it off. I'm not really familiar with the Xterra's drivetrain yet so I was hoping maybe some of you guys could point me in the right direction as to some lube jobs I can do myself.
