Nice. :) How did the optic work out? Were you shooting centerfire or rimfire out of the AR?

optic worked great with both .223 and .22, the video is .223 the barrel started smoking because i was on my third straight mag.
i had to wait 45 minuets before i could put it back in the case.
it was soooo much fun. I wish I had somewhere near here to shoot like that.

LOL nope, it is just a Tasco Red Dot from WalMart for $35. I didn't want to drop a few hundred bucks on a red dot because I wasn't sure if I would like it. This one held up good, I'm going to take and drop my laser bore in and see if it is still at zero.

Good to hear. Watch heating the barrel up really hot, like cattle branding hot, as it dramatically accelerates barrel wear mostly in the throat area.

It was never glowing or anything, I think it started smoking because it is new. Only the third time I've ever shot it.

The smoke was from the oil burning off on the barrel. Most chrome lined barrels are generally good for anywhere from 15K to 20K rounds of semi auto fire as long as they don't have to endure repeated mag dumps without a chance to cool.

lucky, I have a full metal free float grip that heats up really fast. I guess it can be a good thing
