Dewhitewolf 12-18-2010, 07:00 AM I was going to head up to the local hill here (Mountain Creek), but I couldn't find my gloves. Yes, that was the hold up. Fortunately, I found them since, but now the Xterra is in the shop. Hoping to go tomorrow.
Great pics, everyone.
I'd love to leave NJ to live in Colorado. Anyone got a job for me out there? :D
S2X01 01-06-2011, 10:42 AM Went Yesterday. It was COLD!!! and the wind gusts were up to 50 mph.
so needless to say it was pretty brutal out.
The nice part though....the wind was blowing snow around a LOT...so there were all sorts of fluffy stashes. and evertime you cut a new line....it was filled back in nby the time you made it back up!!
All in all....rad day.
xtacular 01-09-2011, 11:02 PM Went up today, great powder!

xtacular 01-10-2011, 12:14 PM Yep I'm really glad I live somewhere cold and snowy!
Steeze, do you have an AT setup or do you snowshoe or something?
Jgbimle 01-10-2011, 12:26 PM Just found this thread and only have one pic of a fun little log ride but now that I know its here Il be sure to keep track of my days.
I got to Blue Knob, its about 20 min from my house. Kinda small but its got the longest runs in PA and when we get snow (key word is "when") its awesome. Obviously doesnt even compare to where you guys are going out west but we make due with what we have haha.
Iv been out west once to Jackson Hole and it was incredible. Im so jealous of you guys and hopefully can go out again.
Been up to BK a lot and its been one of our better years, just got some snow this past weekend so the woods riding was awesome.
Heres a cool little log ride I was hitting:

xtacular 01-10-2011, 12:34 PM Nice!
Steeze 01-10-2011, 12:36 PM Yep I'm really glad I live somewhere cold and snowy!
Steeze, do you have an AT setup or do you snowshoe or something?
Whats an AT setup?
Im assuming your talking about how I get out there in the backcountry.. We actually park at the bottom of loveland pass and hitchhike to the top, usually in the back of a truck.
From the top we can either hike up higher or ride down...
I have snowshoes but I rarely use them
xtacular 01-10-2011, 12:40 PM Gotcha. An AT setup allows for backcountry and downhill skiing, the bindings can be switched to allow your heel to rise like cross country skis. You put skins on the bottom of the skis which are a one-way fabric that sticks insanely well to the skis. You can go anywhere with this setup! Then when you're ready to go down, just take off the skins and switch the bindings and you're good to go!
Edit- there is also a similar setup with a snowboard- it is two pieces that clip together into one board but it works like skis when apart. I've been out with people with both setups and they all work amazing. Hard to find somewhere that will mount them though
Steeze 01-10-2011, 01:27 PM Ya I know what your talking about but I just use a regular snowboard and a backpack
S2X01 01-14-2011, 09:07 AM Andreas (ALifeLessHorizontal) and I went out to LoveLand yesterday. Got some good runs in for sure. Windy......but that's just loveland I suppose.
See if this works.....it's pretty sweet in GoogleEarth.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=203071247989058129098.000499d086c4b6d85454e&ll=39.674295,-105.91507&spn=0.015194,0.058451&t=f&z=15&ecpose=39.64674349,-105.91506958,6617.13,0,44.972,0
S2X01 01-14-2011, 09:22 AM that map should be showing our tracks....but i feel like it's not. I'll see if i can fix it
Snow Chaser 01-25-2011, 02:33 PM I don't have dates, but early season I rode Breck, Loveland, and Winterpark, a day each. Since I've been back in CO after winter break I've been riding Steamboat almost every day.
