My son and fiancee are wanting to take the hood off my X and I am pretty sure that this is a very bad idea.
Especially since none of the DIY's say "Remove hood".
Is anyone in the Central Florida willing to drive to the 192/441 area in St. Cloud and point at things?
I have brownies in the oven ... :D
Or at least would anyone with experience with spark plugs on the X be willing to call me and talk to my Fiancee and give him a tip how to get the #6 plug out without taking off the hood? :(
Please help!
(I have a 2000 v6)

I've never heard of anyone having to take off the hood. The #6 is a little tricky, but with the right extensions and universal swivel adaptor, some patience and a small mirror, its a snap. However, if you have a supercharger it is a bitch. You have a 2000 which didnt have the SC so youll be ok. Here is a link to explain how to reach it:

LOL
I feel your pain.
The best trick is to bring the new plug and socket stuff with you, lay over the engine, follow the plug wire back down to the boot, feel around it to get your hand its bearings..., pull the boot, and take out the old plug...putting trhe new one right back in before you loose track of the position, and then put the socket back on it and torque it back in....and replace the boot.
If you do it all at once w/o repositioning, its amazing how much easier it is....about the same as the others.

The Infamous #6 Plug from HELL, in its natural Habitat:

Notice they are all in a ROW, so you can visually line up with the visible plugs to get the line that the #6 between the engine/firewall is.
Note the depth, how far down its nestled....
Once you do it, its will be a LOT easier the next time.
