Hey guys,

Im currently working on my own roof rack lights and ive fabricated the whole thing myself.

One question, I want to make it so when I lock my car and the tail lights blink twice that the roof lights also blink twice. Whats the easiest way to go about this?

Or something else that may be just as neat. When I unlock it my dome lights stay on for 30 seconds and maybe make it so the roof lights stay on also. Would it be easier to wire that way?

Give me some ideas, hints, or current post.

THanks I appreciate all the input I get from everyone.

in california all roof mounted lights have to be covered so that they cant be used on the street. but that all depends on the cops in your area and if they will enforce a law like that. also flashing 100 watt driving lights would probably cause some teenager thats texting/putting on makup/eating/doing an mani, pedi while driving to crash. but if you want to do it the easiest way would be to hook up a relay thats triggered off the alarm box that flashes the turn signals, and run a diode so that when you activate the driving lights off road you dont feed voltage back to your turn signals and light them up as well. i would wait and install your roof lights first and see how bright those things really are before attempting this though.

What is the best way to run the wire to the battery? Drill holes? Im worried about water getting in.

If you want it to look the best drilling is the only way to go... If you want it to look like a half ass job.. run wires all over the place..you can seal it drilling.. buy some rubber grommets

I sealed my drill holes with black high heat silicone. Works great and sure to keep all water out.
