Hey all, I know this is kinda short notice, but is anyone going to be in the Albany area from 5-9 on Friday or 12-4 on Saturday? I'm looking for some hands and some help to get my 2" BL and 33s installed this weekend. I'm in Troy, full (shared) shop access, air tools, hydraulic lift.

Will provide food and beverages(for after ;) )

4 hours doesnt give you much time to do a BL

Planning on storing the truck there overnight and continuing on Saturday, so 8 hours, I've got a few friend around campus willing to throw in their weight, just looking for some help from people who know what they're doing on either day.

oh ok. as long as you read all the info on BL before hand and know everything you gotta do you will be all set. You can also get some of the prep work done ahead of time before you even bring the truck there. Pull all your door moldings off and unhook the heater core and diff things like that.

Sure it does, 2hours is all you need with 2 people and all the tools ready..
I've done one in less than 3 hours with some set backs..

just make sure you unhook the heater core hoses before you lift. Can't stress that one enough. Breaking that is a X's disabling problem.

So something came up for this weekend, so this BL is getting pushed back.. AGAIN..

The OFFICIAL DATE: November 24, 2010 (and possibly the 26 and 27) in my driveway on the island, gives me as much time as I need too

Might be having a mod day myself soon. Got the light cage from Xoskel coming on Friday, now I just have to go snag some KC's and relays!

i'd be down to help, not that i have any experience in lifts, but more than happy to throw weight around for a few hours, let me know

hell you should just declare it a mod day and invite all the guys from LINXC, of course none of them drive xterra's anymore but they should remember how to help. ;)

Rock: Cool, I'll PM you on Monday or so.. I did declare it on LINXC... didn't get too much response other than some advice.

The only thing I'm really worried about messing with is the steering shaft.

The steering shaft is cake. Just loosen the two bolts, don't remove them all the way. You can access them via the wheel well and they're not hard to get to at all. Just remember to tighten them back up when everything else is done.

Broken bolt #1 on the day, one of the driver side front bumper bracket bolts, the tip just sheared off in my ratchet.

Any tips for the front most bolt/nut?? My impact wrench isn't liking it very much at all and the just keep on it until it comes loose strategy that I used for the rear most bolt isn't working as well...

edit: persistence worked, bolts off, woo!
