This has been covered many times. Search or go to XOC and search.

For the first gen's on the FIPK, it is 5.6 for the N/A and for the S/C-go with 12.7 there.

Excuse my ignorance but what is XOC? I'm new to the Xterra community. Thanks. This has been covered many times. Search or go to XOC and search.

XOC = Xterra Owners Club (xterraownersclub.com)

It's another Xterra forum similar to this one. Some of us are members of both forums... and then some.

Between the XOC and XF (xterrafirma) you can probably find an answer to just about every question you will have. Just take a few minutes to use the search functions and see what you find.

I agree that XOC is a good source of tech info. The idea there though is "SEARCH > READ > DON'T POST" and then come back here.

What we lack in Tech, we make up for in personality. And the tech is getting there. :D

Very true. Not noob/novice friendly at all on the XOC. Good source of info but there are guys here and on XF that will give you help without the ego and flaming. All questions end up in some sort of debate that isn't even related to the question at hand.

That's a great write-up, I've done it also, and will re-iterate that you DON'T have to remove the fender to do it. :D

Has anyone tried using phenolic intake spacers. On my maxima using the spacers there is a 10hp and 12ft-lb torque increase that is across the dyno curve. This is at the wheels not the crank.I know the company makes them for the VG30 in the 89 -94 maximas so I will ask them if they can make some for the VG33 as well. The increase comes mainly from decreasing the heat soak in the intake manifold and maybe a little torque comes from increasing the plenum runners length but mainly the power comes from reducing the intake charge.I'll be e-mailing them today to find out and if they do I'll be planning on installing them to see how well they will work for the VG33.This does work on the VG30 so I can't imaging it not working our motors as well. Didn't mean to jack this thread to another topic but when I saw intakes in the title this just popped in my head.Sorry.

still counts as hp from the intake, like i said in the torque thread, please keep us in the loop for this

I'm hoping for the weather to break before this weekend so I can do this to my X. If I am able to get it done, I will post videos of a before and after so that members can hear the difference after removing the resonators. I can't friggin' wait! I need serious treatment for a severe modding condition! That or more cash to keep my addiction fueled. hahaha

I don't think it's that exciting lol

It does make a difference and there is a bit more of a growl under hard acceleration but my wife never noticed when I did the mod to mine.

My buddy and I put new headers and exhaust on his wife's altima while she was at work (she was driving my buddy's pathy). She came home, got in her car and ran a few errands then comes back home and asks when we were going to fix her car.

And it's not the resonator removal I'm excited about... it's modding in general. I got my body lift kit ready to put on, I have new Bils coming tomorrow as well as low-profile bumpstops and I'm waiting on Total Chaos to ship me my idler arm brace. Then after that... it's new shoes!!!

Oh absolutely! Just got my reply from Whiterock Fab about my new sliders too so in a month to 6 weeks I will have them as well. So after that, phase one of my xterra mods will be complete.

Phase 1: PML, BL, bilsteins, IA brace, 33's and rock sliders.

Then I get to begin phase two.

Phase 2: 3" SL, Hoohaa CL, roof basket with lights and fully shrocked.

Phase 3: Rear locker, crawler gears, winch and maybe a snorkel.

I love it when a plan comes together!:hilarious:

Drake, do not buy the entire SL! Piece that SOB together. I am all about saving money for the homies, you being that.

Thanks for the head's up. Hopefully by the time I have the cash to go for the SL, there will be a few more options on the market with SLR out of the picture but if not I will go with AC's.

Got my Bils and bumpstops in and putting them on now. The new bumpstops are a PITA! They aren't hard to put on, they are just in an awkward place to tighten up the bolts because they are inside the UCA's. The shocks were no problem. Can't wait to test them out this weekend!

i bought the whole SL from ac and it actually came out cheaper than ricer payed for the one he put together.... ( at least i think it was cheaper... )

soccerbrace
02-08-2008, 01:27 AM
Well I am referring to the fact that you only have to but the UCA's and the rear end stuff, and not the TB's or the bumpstop extensions or sway bar extensions. or the shocks or anything

02-08-2008, 06:59 AM
the one i bought idnt come with anything it didbnt need...... no bumpstop extensions or sway bar extensions... yes the kit was a little pricey but i think it was worth it...... but thats IMHO..... just so everyone knows i bought this kit.... http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/index.php3?page=shop/flypage&product_id=3386&category_id=a99729771e51e6e317a566384017d227&ps_session=4d49c8d2a6ca7c8c96846f95745475bf
