Ok,

I a 03 SC X I can't say anything bad about it.. but it just dosen't seem to run like the other X we own. It seems to have no power, it surgers on and off at full throttle under acceleration, bogs at take off and it doesn't like to down shift at full throttle. no CEL showing and no codes a showing up in the ECU or the trans computer, I was thinking that the problem was the knock sensor retarding the timming.

Any input?

What octane gas are you running?

that was my guess on the fuel grade/quality...any knocking? maybe youll be lucky with just some injection cleaner

The knock sensor still will show as a code even though it doesn't light the CEL. The KS is also a one trip deal...in other words it resets after every trip so you will have to check for codes before turning the vehicle off after a trip.

but that wont cause the problems you are having i have been running my X with a bad knock sensor for a long time and i still have full power.... if i stomp on it it goes, with no problem.... the only thing i have with it is when im sitting at idle it hesitates......

Trags13 has a SC so it will make a difference and put the SC in bypass mode. The KS is in the valley under the lower intake manifold.

It makes a difference on NA engines too as the timing doesn't advance like it should. However apart from a small mpg impact and a couple of HP you don't really have to worry about it. On NA engines bypassing the KS with a 560Kohm resistor works well. I would replace the KS on a SC engine. It is there for a purpose. I know of one person who has bypassed the KS on a SC engine. They report good results but YMMV.
