I haven't purchased my XTerra yet, still shopping around for that perfect deal. I am probably outside the norm here, but I am buying this as a tow vehicle for my Focus racecar. Although we'll probably be taking it to the beach in the OBX and driving on the beach would seem like fun.

I should probably search on this topic but anyone know offhand a good street tire for the XTerra? Maybe the OEM Pathfinder or Infiniti FX tires. Something that would be a bit quieter and maybe give an extra .5 mpg or something?

run from OE nissan tires! general tires(if thats what it came with) suck! i got some wranglers, full syn motor oil and an intake and my mpg has greatly improved

I've never heard of racing something like a Focus. What kind of HP can you get out of it? Is it just a novelty thing? :confused:

All sorts of things are raced. Even 90 hp 1990 Honda Civics. When I am done with the class legal mods I hope to be about ~150 hp to the wheels. The secrect to racing this type of car is ..... If you don't slow down, you don't need to waste a lot of time trying to speed back up.

Nice Ride. A big +1 on the braking in autoX. I saw it a the last corvette rally when a srt4 and old integra beat out alot of newer vettes because of driver experience as well as upgraded suspension and brakes.


Af far as power they do make turbo and supercharger kits but again alot of autoxers are N/A

My 1995 eclipse gs-t 2.0l 4 cyl. was 367whp daily driven. 450ishwhp at 25psi of boost and 103 octane. So any 4 can be made with enough money to compete/wamp on vettes and the like.
