: Shrock vs. Calmini Sliders?

Greetings...I'm new to this site which I found helpful in deciding to buy a new 2007 Off Road/Red Brawn. It's only got 800 pavement miles on it so far and already I've noticed the rocker panels and the front of the rear mud flaps are getting quite rockchipped. I looked at Calmini's sliders and thought they would do a good job of deflecting the gravel. Their added protection for serious offroading is a bonus. I'm aware of the Shrockworks sliders, but thought the shape of the Calmini ones would deflect the gravel better. Any thoughts from those of you who have either would be appreciated. Thanks...

I have the Shrocks and I love them. They actually do a great job of deflecting stones and other crap thrown by the tires.

I have neither but I do like the Shrocks better. Also, check out this link to another forum. These are some really nice sliders as well and he says he will finish them in any color you choose.

Sorry to plug another X site on this one but I'm impressed by this guy's work.

"Meathead" is the guy doing the fab work and this post has pictures of them fitted on two different X's and I'm really impressed by his work. I asked him to put a hi-lift jack under one and lift an X to prove the strength and the next day he had one posted. I'm not sure if he still does bumpers or not.

His sliders are going for $285 and he says he can do a one-month turnaround on everyone's orders and will paint them in whatever finish you want. He is in North Carolina I believe and another guy on the forum says he does a lot of custom fab work for the local X club there and also stands behind his work as being top quality.

Here's the pics. I copied and pasted them here so you guys can see.

I will PM him and if he's not already a member, I will see if he will join here and give you guys more info and also let him know that there is interest here.
