i was looking at the leveling kits and noticed they have a 3'' level kit with deaver 2 leaf spring pack. [URL="http://www.prgproducts.com/shop/product/prg_xterra_front_lift_spacers_and_mini_kits/"]

will this kit actually lift my x 3'' and what would happen if i didnt use the PRG upper control arms it says to use?

Trucks come nose down from the factory to improve mpg, handling, cargo carrying, etc....

Some people don't like the nose down rake, and want to "Level" the truck.

This can involve JUST lifting the front about 1.5" or so, to "Level" it...or, lift the front 3", and the rear 1.5", so the front is 3" higher, but the rear is only 1.5" higher, but, they end up "Level".

And so forth.

The UCA are able to clear and not bang on the coil bucket during suspension travel.

If you lift over ~ 2", the stock UCA bang the coil bucket...no matter what lift kit you get...its a physics thing.

That means that those of us who got OTHER lift kits that didn't mention needing different UCA...needed to get the PRG UCA anyway...because the lift's REASON doesn't matter....in that range of motion, the STOCK UCA hit the coil bucket....no matter why its there.

:D

(Frankly, I'd do a lift shackle over an AAL if I could only have one of them...it rides better, and, it works better off road....if wanting a TRUE 3" lift...you'd need AAL AND Lift Shackles)

PRG's stuff is top drawer...so if you talk to them about what you want to achieve, they'll gladly steer you to a good solution.

Food for thought.

TJ is correct, I went with the full PRG Advanced lift with both the AAL's and Shackles and it raised the rear 4" while I cranked the Radflo's up front for 2.5" of lift. Wanted that rake cause I carry lots of military gear around in the back plus it looks BA. The PRG UCA's are a night and day difference over the stock ones. Just helped a guy install my old front Bilstein coils with some 2" spacers and he had contact while driving over some railroad tracks. I'd highly recommend getting some after-market UCA's if you can afford them. If you got any questions about PRG's stuff i can try to answer as best as I can.
