Hey guys,

I have an 01 X that is my DD/work transport. Everything was working fine, I went to leave on a run and when I turned the key in the ignition everything worked in the acc position, but as soon as I turned it all the way to the start position everything went dead. Instrument pannel, all interior lights and outside lights. Then I hear what sounds like a relay under the dash that is trying to fire off that only stops when I pull the +termianl. Last time I had an issue like this it was because of corrosion, but there is minamal (only on the exposed tips of the wires) none in the connector at all. I even went as far as to disconnect my amp and outside lights from the battery and still nothing. Even bought a new battery because I noticed that one of the cell's was dry on the old one (had a crack next to the +terminal).

There is a junction of wires behind the kick pannel on the drivers side that the clicking sound is comeing from. I'm not sure if that is the low-jack that is in my truck or what. Any time I have had an issue with the title holder and they shut down my truck was between 8am-5pm not at 830 at nite, so i dont think it was a low-jack issue.

I also checked all the fuses and all were fine.

Thanks in advance for anny advice and infor to be forth comming

check your negative battery terminal. it may be loose of have corrosion on it. any corrossion can cause it. this just happened to me yesterday actually. use baking soda and water to neutralize/clean the corrosion and acid away then tighten er up. hope this helps!

Diet coke works too, if you don't have baking soda, etc.

x2 on the Diet Coke. Just remember to rinse it with fresh water and let it dry before you put the clamp back on. If not, the diet Coke dries all sticky and attracts all sorts of filth. :D

LOL

And the regular coke is even stickier because of the sugar.

I dont know why I didnt think to check the negative. Took it apart and it was gross. Hit it with some cleaner and let it dry, put it all back together and fired up first try. I guese I was over thinking it last nite and didnt think about the neg being an issue. Glad I did get a new battery tho. To risky to run on one with a bad cell in it.

THX Xsim09 and all for the help

Just an FYI, the quickest fix I have seen for that is a power washer. Let it airdry, and then spray some anti corrosion spray on the terminals and clamps.
