Hello everyone, I'm new to the club, thanks to my girlfriend I found this great site.Well enough about that, lets talk about my new Xterra it's dessert graphite and I'm new to the whole SUV thing and it's awesome except for the one and only complaint that everyone of us has is the freaking horrible MPG that we get , not whats quoted on the window sticker right ladies and gents.I love the power and I'm getting ready to upgrade the entire radio system satelite and speakers all from tweeter and I'm doing the muffler and adding a brush bar.

Welcome to the group! Yep.. gas mileage blows when you've been driving hondas for the past 12 years. BUT... you can't put three backpacks, 2 dogs and 2 buddies in a civic. Well I guess you could but you'd better know your buddies REALLY well.

I'd rethink about the brushguard. I've got one on mine but I'm hoping to part with it in the future and go with a Shrock bumper. Check out Shrockworks.com for all your armor needs from skidplates to bumpers and winches.

Welcome A Board!

:D

And DO NOT GET A BRUSH GUARD!!!!!!

They are worse than nothing....and end up causing more damage than if you had a stock front end.

What you want is a real bumper...like Shrockworks.

www.shrockworks.com

Trust us......this conversation has been going on since 2000....and its been shown over and over again.....the brush guards do not do what they look like they should, they make the X unable to get over or through things a stock X can clear, and, as they have to loop way under the front end plastic to reach the frame horns, it creates a giant lever, which in even mild impacts, makes the entire brush guard swing back and damage parts of the X that WOULD have been undamaged, etc.

IE: They are a cosmetic mod, not functional.

So, please, for the love of god, do NOT get a brush guard...leave the front end stock, or get a real bumper.

:D

Switch to all synthetic oil/lubes, and the mpg goes up btw.

:D
