Hey i got an 02 Xterra, i need to get rid of the stock tires, worn out. I was looking at some Kuhmo Road adventure AT KL78. Wanted to get some opinions before i buy,

The Kumho's are decent tires, but they wear quickly, and the sidewalls aren't as strong as some of the more expensive tires.

Not bad tread design. Very similar to the Goodyear Wrangler. But there IS a reason why they are that much cheaper and like Anthony said, it is usually in the tread life or weaker sidewalls. Another good tire you could look at would be the Nitto Terra Grappler. Not much more than the Kumho's and I've seen a lot of posts/ reports of X'ers getting 40K out of them. They will probably be my next purchase for mine before I buy my 15" wheels (on 17" now).

Had very good use out of my BFG all terrain t/a ko's. They were great for trail and road use, cleaned out very well for traction. They are kinda spendy, but in my case I went to a wholesale store, SAM's Club, and got their prices matched at a tire specialty store. Saved me over $50 per tire!!! I have heard some bad things about good years lately, but no experience myself with them.
