I saw a nice gen 1 xterra here in Calgary and tracked down the manufacturer of the bumper. http://www.banditbar.com/ are manufactured in Alberta and currently available for Gen 1 xterra only.
If I remember my code, here's a couple of pictures.

I chatted briefly with the manufacturer... a gen 2 bumper could be made.. if someone wants to volunteer their truck for measures and prototyping. Since my truck is still at the dealership I can't step up to this challenge.

Looks like a cross between a Calmini and Shrock. Wonder what the prices are.

I saw on Extreme4x4 last weekend where they were talking about armor companies that used aluminum plating. Surprisingly, they are able to withstand almost as much as steel when designed right. I didn't know but a lot of the bumpers they use in their builds on that show is made from aluminum plating.
Umm.. Look at the front axle on that... Swert..
The only reason i think its sweet/different is because its still looks the same height is you had a BL+PML+33's..
Thats my type of sas..

I read about the build of that bumper in a magazine a while back.. if memory serves correctly, it was stupid expensive, something like $2300

The bumper on my Dad's International Eagle he owned back when he hauled long haul was aluminium. I remember one trip I was on with him when I was around 14 he nailed a deer doing about 80mph. Bumper was only banged up a little bit, but the deer was beyond gone. He was pretty anal with his truck, so he ended up getting another bumper and giving that one to a neighbor to recycle.
