LOL

Welcome A Board!

The intro section is to say HI!

If you ask a specific question, like about tires, painting plastic, how to maximize a 2wd for off roading, you get a better response if you post EACH in its own section.

People who paint the plastic might not know what to say about tires, and visa versa for example....and, frankly, most people don't read the intro post when you post it....they read it LATER, after you post somewhere ELSE....to see who you are/your back story, etc.

Should I remove the rails and mudflaps? To me it kinda looks better too and I heard they are cheap anyway and break easy. Btw my road is gravel... :aufkopfhauen-big:

Remove the rails, lower flaps, and the rear sway bar (Leave the front on).

If you hit the dirt, take off the 'lil plastic hub caps so they don't get lost.

So remove all that stuff I kinda think that stuff makes it look um fat lol anyway plus with it off it looks more aggressive. Removing the rear sway bar won't mess up handling will it?

No...your handling will be about the same...better if the procedure keeps the stupid thing from braking your rear passenger side shock absorber...which its done to too many people already...

And if removing the rear sway bar keeps it from whipping into your brake lines, so that you lose your ability to stop, than your braking will be better too.

Etc.

:D

Most of us take it off and throw it away....its essentially worthless to dangerous depending on your story later.

There's a TON of threads on this...reader's digest:

Removing It GREATLY improves off road articulation.

It breaks on even ON road driving, pulling into driveways, going down the hwy, delivering mail, and other examples...and whips into stuff under the truck.

WITHOUT it breaking, IT breaks peoples passenger side rear shock absorber...its just a bad design that hits against the shock.

When it breaks, anything under there can be wrecked by it, so far, this has included damage to brake lines, diff breathers, shocks, tires, rocker panels, wheel wells, etc.

Most people (~ 99%) report that they cannot tell the difference after removing it.

Some people who removed it when they went to off road tires, lifts, etc...reported that they might feel the X be a little floatier, but that that might be due to mud tires instead of street tires, a higher center of gravity, etc.

I found a slight increase in roll on decreasing radius turns, but not enough to worry about. I am attuned to this sort of thing, I used to set up race cars, etc.

People who tow, say it works the same with, or without it.

Remove the rear sway bar.

I highly doubt that you have a PML. The Xterra, like many vehicles, has a intentional rake which makes the front sit lower for aerodynamics, etc.

However if you want to go measure the length of your rear shackles, we can tell you if they are stock or not.

2. Paint bumper and plastics black with either black spray paint or some rustoluem bedlinder i've seen pictures and it looks good and I've heard it offers good protection and last but I've heard its expensive.
