So I started a feeler for a Treadwright group buy over on thenewx & it just dawned on me last night to extend it on over to CX. I just made a feeler thread for it...I'm not the one doing the actual legwork. Wisbike over on thenewx is the one that got the group buy going several months ago, & he's the one that's contacting them again to see if they'd do another one. The more numbers we get, the more appealing it'll be to Treadwright to offer a group buy & maybe a better deal than last time!

Earlier this year, they were able to do 10% off orders. If we get a lot of interested parties, who knows...maybe they'd do 15% or something. I've got 14 lined up over on thenewx feeler.

Most people on here would not run those tires... Sorry man...

I'm surprised so many people are buying those tires. I've heard good reviews about the treadwright tires, but to me, a re-tread is a re-tread and I'd rather spend the extra $$ on something I know is money well spent :)

yeah...i've heard of that too. but I've also heard more of guys airing down on them w/out issue either. it's a gamble i guess

I'm leary of a retread too...but, like you, i've heard of waaay too many postive reviews of these brand of tires that I'm not all that concerned about it. I'd love to get BFG ATs or General Grabbers, but I don't have a ton of cash to get those. So for the budget-minded, it's a very good choice...& getting one hell of a tire too!

but being I know how the guys are over on thenewx about their equipment & parts, I know that they wouldn't jump on something like this if it's not worth it. They wouldn't put something questionable on their Xs, even if it was at a good price. I'd say don't rule out Treadwrights base off a couple bad reviews....there's way more postive ones that outweigh the negatives. But definitely do some research on them if you want if you're interested in them at least.

But it's all up to what you're comfortable with...i'm not out to change anyone's mind ;) Just putting this feeler out there...that's all. But for those interested in new tires at one h*ll of a price, here's a good chance to get a good price on them.

Yea don't get me wrong, I think its great there's been good reviews on em and people trust them. Hell I think I remember reading that Peterson's 4wheel and offroad did a short review of them a few months back and said they liked them a lot. They're priced great too. I just wouldn't want to worry about a tire detreading itself when I'm going 70-75 down the highway lol

Treadwright agreed to the group buy, but they're in the process of moving operations or something, so it'll be another month before they open up a group buy.
