Hey guys. Just been watching Earl's projected path. Take it from a Louisiana Gulf Coast resident: Don't F around. If you guys gotta get out of town, do it. Be safe, and keep us posted.

Damn...

That's a problem we don't see here in CO.... we get some gnarly weather, but nothing we need to run from..

And from a fellow Gulf Coast dude ... get your supplies (gas, water, & food) and everything in order and Run for the hills.

Ike and the past hurricanes are nothing to mess with.

If you have the tv channel NatGeo, you should watch the documentary on Katrina that is currently playing.

might go up the East Coast so the Outer Banks might get hit.

...and that's just wind damage. I'm more concerned about folks living along the coast being flooded by storm surge. The Mississippi coast still hasn't recovered to anything like it was before Katrina.

Exactly!

Here is water damage as seen on the TX coast.

Conroe isn't to far from the coast as a crow flies. We where without power for three weeks, stores were closed and gas was at a bare minimum.

This is nothing compared to Katrina in LA. but you can see what can happen to city 70 miles (linear) from the coast.

lmfao, that ONE house stood without (or as I can see) damage lol

Also I;m from Florida, so eh Hurricanes aren't nuttin to me. Hurricane Charley went directy over my house when it hit a few years back. The eye was over my house for about 25 minutes, pretty kewl to go out and see the rain in the background but nothing on you lol.....

Charley was a Cat 4 when it hit

Well this should be fun. On my way to NJ for a race and a hurricane is inbound. Lovely. :pfeilimkopf-big:

I'll prolly just get some clouds (maybe rain) from Earl in my neck of the woods. Nothing too earth-shattering thank God! They've already issued an evacuation of Ocracoke Island.

Earl will be no biggie whatsoever. I agree with having the outer banks evacuated because of the wave heights, but other than that, the US shouldn't expect much of anything from it. Though, for all you beach goers, if your on the east coast, stay out of the water. Rip currents are going to be bad. I actually might head up to boston to get closer to the shore.
