: Cat Back Exhaust?

After doing some research and being that my birthday is in a few weeks I think it is time to throw a cat back on the X. After getting under the truck I realized I didn't want to start hacking away at the muffler and decided a cat back would be the easiest and most efficient way to go. It's a 2000 3.3 4WD AT, BTW. I've already done the intake mod and removed the resonators and threw in a K&N Hi-flow filter. It definitely gave it a much throatier sound, but it bugs me that it is a relatively quiet truck. I'm confused as to what system to get though. I've seen the Gibson and the Calmini, and I've also heard that Borla has one, but I haven't been able to find it. I don't want something that is an annoying type of loud, I have lights to annoy people if need be ;). The last thing I want is something that sounds like a little ricer coming by. A nice idle, throaty under a load, and relatively quiet when I have to sneak in at night. What do you guys think would be a good one to pick up?

Also, I'm assuming installation shouldn't be to bad, right? Something I could do in the driveway at home. It is pretty much a bolt on system, no welding, right?

Well, thanks for the help!

I don't have the links handy but I was piddling on youtube the other night and came across a few videos of some xterras that had magnaflow exhaust and intake mods and they were recording the sound of them. Check through youtube and see what you can find. I think I was just doing a general search by keyword "Xterra"

one more question, would i get similar performance by just installing a magnaflow muffler instead of the full cat back system, and does anyone know what the stock exhaust diameter is thanks for your time....

Does nismo offer anything for exhaust. I guess that is the first place I would look cuz it is nissan after all, and they would be designed well and install should be a custom fit. Probably a bit more pricey, but I have heard good things from other nissan fans.

thanks ill save a few bucks and just install the magnaflow muffler since the diameter on the OEM and aftermarket is the same...
