There will be a cleanup on the West side of Table Mesa Rd on November 6, 2010. I realize that this is still a few months out, but I wanted to get the word out as soon as I could (in hopes for more volunteers). I'll post up more information, as I get it.

This will be a great opportunity to meet a bunch of like-minded 4x4 enthusiasts, to see some really well-built rigs, and to help keep our trails Clean and OPEN. I hope to see you there!

This event is shaping up to be a good size cleanup. There are many different 4x4 clubs that will be there: AZXC, AZVJC, AZFJ, Arizona K5 Blazers, TTORA, Zuks of AZ, Higher Ground 4x4, alloffroadaz, and several more clubs. There will also be several ATV/UTV clubs, a few dirtbike clubs, a mountain bike club (MBAA), a HAM radio club (4x4HAM.com), and even a radio-controlled car club (RCCrawlers.com). I have also posted up on several local hunting/shooting websites as well.

The BLM will be there, as will their volunteer group called the OHV Ambassadors. The Arizona Xterra Club has donated 10 boxes of the heavy-duty contractor’s trashbags, and M&I bank has donated a bunch of cases of bottled water. The folks from TreadyLightly! have donated some swag for the giveaway at the end of the cleanup, and one of their master Tread Trainers will be on hand as well. Trasharoo has donated one of their really cool offroad garbage bag holders. Over the next few weeks, I will be working with additional local companies to get more donations for the giveaway.

I am talking with the Chris @ the BLM to get the lunch coordinated (they are no longer allowed to buy food for cleanups, but they have some partner organizations that should be able to step up and buy the food). I am also getting a flyer made up to be distributed to all interested parties.

If you have a business, and would like to donate to the cleanup (we could use gloves, food/snacks, and giveaway items), please PM me here or <email removed>. I'm really excited about this cleanup, and I know that we can make a really good impact out at Table Mesa. Thanks for your support, and I look forward to seeing you all there.

Here is the flyer I created for the Table Mesa Cleanup:

I would have attached a pdf version of the flyer, but this forum limits pdf files to 19.5KB (waaay too small, IMHO).

I just got word that Four Wheeler magazine will be at the cleanup! You've got two weeks to get your mods finished up!! Who knows, your ride might appear in the magazine!!!

good luck with the clean-up, unofrtunately i'm a little out of town, but just out of curiousity, what is table Mesa? Is it a 4WD road, or a 4x4 State Park or what?

It is both a road and a Recreation Area comprised mostly of federal land controlled by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). There is a small part of the area that is actually AZ State Trust Land.

The unique thing about Table Mesa Recreation Area is that it is a multi-use area. Everyone from hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, 4x4s, ATVs/UTVs, dirt bikes, target shooters, and hunters use Table Mesa. There is also a riparian area along the Agua Fria riverbed that is home to many different species of shore birds. Additionally, Table Mesa is home to the elusive desert tortoise.

For the 4x4 crowd, Table Mesa offers some really good offroading. There is everything from graded dirt roads to challenging 4x4 trails to world class rockcrawling runs.

Located only 30 miles north of Phoenix, it is a great day use destination, or you can camp (up to 14 days without a permit). Best of all, Table Mesa is FREE. That's right, there is no entrance fees to use and/or camp there.
