I have 2000 with 65K miles, original pads, has anyone changed pads yet & at what miles? This could be why my abs light comes on?

Brad, I change my pads whether they're good or not, every summer. I do it on all my vehicles. But I also do them myself. Which is why I do them in the summer.

If you're someone that needs a service place to get them done, you're brake pads will squeel like crazy when you need them to be replaced. Bring the truck in 'round about then.

Your pads will hit what's called the "squeal bars" when they're ready to be changed and you'll hear them when you brake. So you can either wait, or just change them because it's been a while... depends on everyones individual braking habits how often brake pads need to be changed.

If your ABS light comes on, it's not related to brakes.. it's in the antilock braking system itself.. whether it's the ABS module, or just a bad sensor picking up something that's not really there.. your regular braking function is fine.. but when the ABS light comes on ABS is disabled.
