Hello everyone Im a newbe here, just have a few quick questions. I have a 2000 se, have had for the past 3 years and am looking to upgrade the stock suspension with a "lift". Have gathered some info from the site and has been useful. I am interested in the bilstein 5100.

Found this site: http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html/shop/index.php3?page=shop/flypage&product_id=3387&category_id=a99729771e51e6e317a566384017d227&ps_session=a8aaa50a52cfb1e8247d4bccba71cc87

1.Just wondering what you think?
2.Notice there isnt any shackles and could I get them with this lift?
3.Do I need anything else?

:wink-big: Thankyou for your help much apprieciated

you should not get shackles with the aal pack, if you were getting the single add a leaf it'd be fine, but since you are getting the pack it will lift it too high in the rear with lift shackles

i have the same shock on mine, so does json3904, we are both very pleased with this shock

Thanx for the reply, two more things, how was the install? or did you have someone else do it. Also will this allow me to add bigger tires if I choose to?

NOT TOO BAD, its a little tedious, but it took j and i about 14hrs bullshitting in the driveway to get it done, and when i did mine i did it alone and it took me about 22hrs, i had never done a lift before and just kinda dove into it

as for tires, no you cant actually fit bigger tires on it without a body lift
look through some of the "largest tire" or "biggest tire" threads for an explanation, then see the $65 body lift thread in the DIY forum

i should also not ethat both xterra lifts ive done or helped with we did in my driveway with all hand tools

Is it wise to do a bl with a suspension lift? If so which should be done first?

well, if i could do it all over again, id do the bl+bigger tires first bc of personal preference, then the sl later.
and i believe its cool to do the 2"bl with the 3"sl, im pretty sure anthony is already runnin that

yes when we first did my lift i didnt have the stock shackles with me so the rear end was about 2" higher than the front so when i got home i went back to the stock ones. if i could do it over agine i would also go with the BL first then the SL but what it done is done. good luck with the instal

YEA I WILL ALSO VOUCH FOR IT, i have had some REALLY hard hit to my front end, like dropping into a rut all the force on one front tire hard enough to bounce the truck BACKWARDS
its VERY strong when paired with an idler arm brace

Thanks for all the info, did look into the hoo haa upgrade on another site believe it ran for $225 without the brace(pretty sure) sounds like a good deal. Will definitly pm you when I am ready to upgrade. Should I do this right away? or is ok to wait a little while?

Depends on how hard you are gonna wheel it
if you are gonna wheel at all, i would suggest at least getting the idler arm brace, in fact, i believe i have an extra unused IAB in my aunt's garage(aka my shop lol)
if i can find it this weekend ill sell it to you cheap
