emergency avoided!! got it to re-thread. thanks anyway, guys!


hey guys,

im in a bit of a bind. i tried removing my rear aal today (to no avail) and when reassembling, it looks like the lower shackle threads on my driver side shackle got messed up, and i can't re-thread the nut.

anyone have stock shackles laying around off a 2005+? I really need a set ASAP so i cant get to work on monday. ill buy too!

i'll be outside trying to clean up the threads and get this thing back together.

it doesnt look terrible. just the starter threads from what i can see. im trying to clean them up using a mini hacksaw blade to file away a little of the mangled-ness. i guess last resort is to attempt to cut the eighth inch or so off the end of the threads but i really wanna avoid that if possible...

have you tried getting a dye from a hardware store to fix the threads

forget it! i was able to clean the threads enough to get the nut on, and it did the rest of the work. emergency avoided!

I think you're rear suspension is telling you that it wants to stay on hahaha
