Greetings all, just picked up a slightly used 07 4x2 in Solar Yellow. Got home and discovered that I don't have a spare (bought it as is, oh well). It's actually the wife's truck, but I'm sure that i'll make my way behind the wheel eventually.

I believe that i've got an S model, but is there a quick and dirty way to tell if it's an X or S? It has the alarm system, but no side steps. When the world finally wakes up, i'm calling the local dealership to see if I can get a run on any service records and build information, but I thought i'd start with the people that might actually help me and who live for their Xterras.

I love the look of these trucks and the solar yellow is just so eye catching, can't wait to spend some time on the paint so that it will really shine until the wife starts hitting the local fire roads!

Edit: I've found out that it's an X. Goofy me, it's an S

Another question: Anyone got a good source for black step/nerf bars? I looked at the Shrock bars, very nice, but maybe a bit more than I need.

One way to tell is that Xs have steel wheels. Ss have alloy wheels.

Depending on your planned uses of the vehicle the stock side steps may be adequate. Check around the forums as many members upgrade to Shrocks. Of course if you are planning on getting the vehicle in damaging places then Shrocks or similar would be the best bet.

i vote for shrock too

save you lots of damage on the trail or a side collision

Come on guys, a dumb question like mine should have been met with a snarky "The search function is your best friend" comment instead of a nicely worded one. I'll look around the forum, apologies for a noob mistake! Thanks guys, looking forward to being a part of the community.
