2000 exterra, abs light on after making mild right turn. Parked it & came back 1 hour later. OK now. Is this common?

Hey Mark, was it raining by chance when this happened? I know from experience with other vehilcles that water and or dir can screw up your ABS sensors. My old 94 Bronco use to do that - and always when it seemed you needed ABS the most - when it was snowing.

If the light stays on constantly, try clearing it by removing the + batt cable for about 15 mins, then replace. This will reset your ECU. If it comes back on, have it checked - its probably a bad/dirty sensor.

At any rate, you're safe driving it with or without the ABS. Frankly, I'd prefer to rely on my own instincts than the unpredictable reactions of the computer.

Oh yeah, Welcome to the club! :)
