I just installed Bilstein BE5-D743-HO on front of my newly purchased 2007 Xterra 2wd and BE5-E628-HO on the rear. The change from the old to the new shocks produced a noticable lift in the front end. The handling seemed to improve but the bounce in the front end was very noticeable. Did the installer do something wrong or do I just need to get used to it?

I could of just meant that your stock shocks were beat or getting there. I have bils and i don't have any bounce but its smooth. Maybe you could be mistaking the shocks doing there job for something wrong.. Did your old shocks bump a bit harder than the bils?

I thing you are right my old ones were beat up and I just didnt know it!
Hmmm...the shocks do not provide lift....so I'm not sure why you got "noticeable lift"?
As for being bouncy...maybe the tires are simply over inflated?
:D
What's the max psi and load in pounds on the sidewall, and, what's the psi actually IN the tires?
:D

tires are R265X70X16 and are inflated to 35psi but the ride is much harsher now than with the original shocks. Is this normal?

Umm, no. Shocks make your ride not as rough.. Did you put them on or did a shop do it? Its next to impossible to screw up, just wondering...

No, I had a shop install but the ride is so much different and it is definitely rougher. Any suggestions?
