Trying to narrow down my choice of new tires. Need opinions on Wranglers and AT KOs. Thanks for the help.

First off, answer some questions.

1. What are you looking to do with your tires?
2.How much offroading do you do?
3. Do you want tires that are good offroad, good on road, or a mix of both?

Which goodyear wrangler?

BFG AT KOs are some of the most aggressive ATs on the market, but Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are even more agressive, and have been shown to be even better off road. Is tread wear an important factor for you?

I'm a fan of the BFG ATKO's mainly for their ice and packed snow performance coupled with their on road abilities. Getting to work in the winter is mandatory.

i love my wragler silent aromor. they are amazing in snow, ice, rain, mud and dirt.

i think the BFG are good but dont do as well in the rain on road.

I love my BFG KOs. My feeling is when choosing between brands (if you're already settled on a style) is that it doesn't really matter. It's apples and apples. Modern tires are all pretty good, so choose the one with either the best warranty or which ever one you think looks coolest.

My .02 for what it's worth.

hey guys... its T/A KO thanx.. anywho.. depends all on style. BFGs r the way to go. they're pretty awesome and have not heard any complaints.. trust me.. i work at a tire shop.. i get nothing but complaints..... my tires are loud.. my tires are too small.. they wear out too fast.. ive heard it all.. pretty much any of the allterrain tires from the major brands are going to be good. if u have the cash i highly suggest the Michelin LTX M/S2s. superb from wht they tell me.

I have the Goodyear Eagle GT on my 06 TL. I bought in November 0f 2008. I was very pleased with the performance to date. Good traction snow and rain much better grip than stock tires.

those are awesome... more of a performance tire that you'd find in a low profile tire tho

The M/S2 is an all season street tire.
I run the LTX A/T2s and have no issues with them.:wink-big:

Hahaha! I was gonna say, "Waddya? Sell tires for a living?"

These days the debate about what's the "best" so almost pointless. It's like arguing which is better, the newset GSX1000R or CBR1000RR? I'm a motorcycle person and so peeps invariably ask me which is better, which will give them better track times, and I always counter with "Which one is more comfortable and which one do you like to look at more? Buy that one." Unless you're Valentino Rossi, it won't make one bit of difference which one you choose.

Sure, a BFG is going to be better than some no-name brand that''s manufactured in some shithole 3rd world country, but will a Dick Cepek make me a better off roader than the BFG? No.

Ko's your going to get 70K easy out of them... If your looking for a nice AT Ko's are nice...
If your looking for a tire to do good on trails Ko's....
Now if your looking for a more Aggressive look and tire.. go with GY Duratrac's these seem to do better over all... Only if on them is tread life

Prsonal opinion, Nitto Terra Grappler and Cooper Discoverer S/T or STT would be my preference for the $$$... :D

I couldn't get either the BFG T/A KO or Wrangler S/A to last me very long (both worn smooth before 40k miles) and the small grooves in the BFG cannot handle the clay here, they're almost guaranteed to clot up and smooth over into slicks everytime....
